What is it exactly that I do, and what can you expect of me?

I build websites with a mobile-first responsive web design approach. For me, building websites is about building communication tools to reach people and solve problems.

I think the success of a website depends on its content. If you don't care about content, no design, no matter how responsive, can help you.

Keeping this in mind, scaling up from the mobile context ensures that the core message, content and functionality of a website remain intact, also on small screens.

Finally yet importantly, when it comes to animation, my rule of thumb is that good animation will make the user’s experience better. Animation can draw attention to important actions, determine relationships between elements and add a bit of fun and character to a website.

By following these principles, I want to create beautiful and functional websites.

How do I work?

1. Determine requirements

I want to discuss your project extensively with you. What’s the goal of your website? Who do you want to reach and what is the content you offer to your users? What are you ultimately trying to achieve? Are there ideas, visuals or other materials that I can work with? This is the basis for my briefing and the quotation.

2. Design phase

The ideas that came up during phase one are put into practice here. Initially, wireframes happen through a simple sketch of what the project will look like. Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe Experience Design are my favorite design tools to get into more detail. The content of your website can be reviewed in English, French and Dutch. Then, your project is translated into an attractive and fitting design.

3. Development

During the development phase the approved designs are transformed into a functioning website.

There is extensive testing at the end of the development phase. All bugs and issues are singled out and resolved in this stage.

4. Finishing up and support

I'll assist you while setting up hosting and help you to the final go-live.
